Electronics 

Mechanics

The Team

The NJIT Solar Car Team consists of four main subteams including electronics, software, mechanics, and business.

Software

Business

This team is responsible for all the main electronic components that allow the car to run. This includes the central control unit, electronic motors, solar panels, battery management system, sensors, and any wiring. This team must also manage any repairs that are necessary during competition.

This team is responsible for writing the software for any microcontrollers in the car, conducting aerodynamic simulations of the body, connecting all sensor data to the central display, incorporating any safety measures, and managing any external communication of the car to remote devices. 

This team is responsible for all the mechanical and structural components of the car. This includes the chassis, brakes, steering, suspension, and all fluids. This team is also responsible for the canopy and underside of the car, including creating all designs through CAD, materials management, chemicals for molding, and conducting stress tests.

This team is responsible for logistics and operations of the team. This includes managing funds and delegating finances, advertising team through social media, collaborating with sponsors, communicating with related clubs, actively updating website and blog, and managing team apparel and merchandise.
